Each year, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger hosts an athletic and fitness symposium in conjunction with the International Chiropractic Association. He has been wonderfully supportive and gracious towards the chiropractic profession. The video below are his opening remarks for the most recent event, the chiropractic seminar portion of the event being held in this ballroom. I have a special affection for the Governor, who personally awarded me his annual essay-competition chiropractic scholarship at his 2009 Symposium. That Symposium, held in Columbus, Ohio, was so crowded that the international attendees took up the whole downtown hotel area for several nights. There were a myriad of sporting events for all ages, weightlifting competitions, bodybuilding exhibitions, and vendors. Oh, the vendors! Thousands of vendors. As is the case with many high-profile athletes, the Governor has been a long-time proponent of chiropractic. One of his quotes, attributed to him by Frank at chiro.org, is “We’ve got to let the people know that there is a necessity, it’s not even an option, it’s a necessity to have a chiropractor. As much as it is a necessity to have a dentist, if you have a dentist for the family, you should have your chiropractor for the family.”
