THE WEBSTER TECHNIQUE HELPED ME -- "My midwife first started to be concerned about my baby's position at my 30 week checkup. My third baby was still fairly mobile, but usually had her head tucked away inside my right hip - not where it was supposed to be! She asked me to do inversions (a stretch promoted by spinningbabies.com), and I mentioned the baby's position to Dr. Johnson on my next visit. After my regular adjustment, he did the Webster Technique on me, and again during week 31 of my pregnancy. The Webster technique was very easy on me and less complicated than I thought it would be. It didn't hurt at all. I actually forgot about doing the inversions until my 32 week checkup, when the baby was still tucked away inside my right hip. I started doing them daily, and Dr. Johnson did the Webster technique again at weeks 32 and 33. That last Webster technique even felt different, like my body decided to relax right after that. After four sessions of the Webster technique and a week and a half of regular inversions, my baby flipped head-down at 34 weeks exactly. My hips feel better and the baby is clearly where she should be, and my midwife confirmed the baby's new position this morning. I know the Webster technique and Dr. Johnson helped me and my baby. PROPERLY ALIGNED FOR LABOR -- "I started seeing Dr. Johnson regularly when I was in the third trimester of my pregnancy. I am prone to low back pain which is exacerbated by pregnancy, but regular adjustments kept my low back pain to a minimum. Besides being hugely pregnant, I was able to stay fairly active and (relatively) comfortable. Dr. Johnson used the Webster Technique to make sure my body was properly aligned for labor.
