Many chiropractors use the spinal column as their logo. Those bones are immediately recognizable as being a symbol of the chiropractic profession. Yet Johnson Family Chiropractic doesn't use a spine-based logo. Why not?
It is important to remember that although chiropractors move bones, we are not bone doctors. Although we help to reduce or erase your pain, we are not pain doctors. Although we have a wonderful track record with treating headaches, we are not head doctors. Although we treat many back conditions (lumbago, back pain, low back pain, lumbar facet syndrome, disc conditions, sciatica, etc.), we are not back doctors. At heart, a chiropractor is a nerve doctor. Your nervous system controls and regulates all other systems in your body. Your nervous system controls your immune function. Your nervous system controls your inflammatory response. Your nervous system controls the pain signals which shoot from your back to your brain. It is the interruptions in the nervous system which interest me, because when your nervous system is able to function correctly, your body is able to heal. When your body is able to heal, the pain you feel often goes away naturally. So I have to investigate your nerves in order to restore function to your body. By choosing not to portray the spinal vertebrae in our logo, Johnson Family Chiropractic has decided to emphasize something else: helpfulness. In this Activator Methods practice, you won't hear crunches and cracks of bones. You will encounter good listeners, gentle adjusters, and, hopefully, helpful relief. Because, if I do my job correctly, I'll get on your nerves. And that's actually a very good thing.
