When does today's news become simply yesterday's headlines? But just because news is "new" does not mean that it is automatically valid. Sometimes "old news" can be more important than the latest trend.
Here's an example. A study from 1998 showed that avoiding low-back forward bending in the early morning helped reduce chronic low back pain. Wow! That seems remarkably simple: something you can do (or avoid) at home that helps your low back pain. This is not new news, but it is still perfectly valid. Studies have shown that putting load on the lower back spine after prolonged laying or sitting can be far more stressful than putting load on the lower spine after standing. So if you have chronic low back pain, consider avoiding lifting early in the morning or after sitting for a long period of time, such as when driving long distances. I'm sure your back will thank you in the long run.
