After a recent course of chiropractic treatment here at Johnson Family Chiropractic of Peoria, a patient wrote about her experiences in this review: I first tried chiropractic after a back injury, several years ago, while living in another city. After my recent return to Peoria, and yet another back injury, I turned to my health care provider's website to see who I could visit for care. I believe I was meant to find Dr. Johnson. I was accustomed to the "hands on" approach to adjustment, but never felt comfortable with it. However, I was also skeptical that this instrument that looks like a toy injector was really going to work. It works and Dr. Johnson works magic. I presented barely able to walk, in horrible pain and miserable. After only 5 visits, I am back to normal, maybe even better than normal. Dr. Johnson is thorough, compassionate and kind. It is obvious he is most concerned with patient care above all else. He explains everything and answers all questions with a smile. I would very highly recommend Dr. Johnson at Johnson Family Chiropractic. We're extremely grateful that this patient gave such a glowing account of her experience with chiropractic and Activator Methods, and very happy that she recovered from her serious low back pain so quickly. Here's hoping that she continues to remain pain free for a very long time!

A young mother e-mailed this testimonial with permission to publish anonymously: I was in the midst of preparations for a big noontime meal, chatting with my sister-in-law as I sliced vegetables. My ten-mouth-old was sitting in her highchair, happily eating little cubes of avocado. Everything was going smoothly and I wasn’t concerned about my crawling baby accidentally being trod underfoot with multiple people in the kitchen. Suddenly, I heard her give a panicked cry. I whirled around to see that the strap that was supposed to go between her legs was broken and she had started to slide out of the bottom of her high chair. Her head was wedged between the tray and the back of her seat. I rushed over and extricated her immediately. She cried for a while; of course she would, poor thing. Not long afterward she went down for her typical afternoon nap. It was a frightening occurrence, but at least it was over. It appears that most of the weight of this ten month old child was dangling from her head and neck for a short time. This is a tremendous amount of force to be supported by relatively tiny bones and delicate muscles, but this is not an unusual injury. The injury that this child suffered is very similar to many birth injuries, where a baby's head is pulled away from his body. This is particularly prevalent in caesarian section births. This type of pulling can potentially strain muscles, sprain ligaments, stretch the covering of the spinal cord, and injure nerves in the neck, shoulders, and upper arms. Fortunately, babies have a remarkable capability for healing.
The chiropractic adjustment aims to restore the proper relationship between the nerves, muscles, bones, and organs in order to allow the healing process to continue properly. In this case, this baby needed just one treatment to properly heal! The baby and mother are both equally happy after a simple, inexpensive, and effective chiropractic adjustment. Read our other testimonials! Why does a man or woman decide to become a chiropractor? Well, here's one man's story... From medical research to chiropractic to being a team doctor for the New England Patriots. Dr. Michael Miller graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic (my alma mater) in 1979 and has had an excellent career since. Enjoy his story now! The man holding the large trophy over his head while strolling through Wrigley Field... is Jonathan Toews, the captain of the 2010 Stanley Cup champion Chicago Blackhawks hockey team. Toews was also a hero of the Canadian gold-medal Olympic hockey team, which defeated the United States in the gold-medal game in thrilling overtime fashion. But Toews's last couple of seasons, since the Stanley Cup victory, have been marred by concussions. Hockey is a violent and brutal sport, and although headgear is worn by all players, concussions can happen on even routine hits when a player's head strikes the glass, boards, or concrete-hard ice. Toews has suffered multiple concussions, leading many sports and news outlets to wonder if he would ever be the same. Toews says he's fully recovered. And he credits chiropractic neurology. Have you ever had a great -- no, not just great -- a fantastic experience somewhere and just had to tell someone about it? Could be an exquisite meal, a roll-on-the-floor-laughing movie, the fastest shipping experience from an on-line retailer EVER, or the restoration of your natural health through chiropractic care. Of course you'd want to tell someone! There are whole websites dedicated to nothing more than customer reviews: the postives, the negatives, the experiences. People instinctively want the best: we want to find the fastest oil change, the lowest gas price, the nicest waitresses, the most succulent ribs. But when it comes to choosing a doctor, knowing what to look for gets a bit tricky. How do you know what you're looking for? Is a big office better than a small office? Is a single caring doctor better than a large staff? Will the doctor's personality be right for you? When every doctor starts to look the same online, you need other ways to make decisions. One way to decide which doctor to visit is to read reports from patients just like you. It's just like going to your trusted friends and asking them, "Hey, what was it like over at your doctor's? Is he good?" This is why Johnson Family Chiropractic is now collecting our doctor reviews in one location instead of scattering them throughout this blog. You need to be able to see at a glance just what this practice is all about. We invite you to check out our page of Patient Testimonials. Maybe our patients' experiences with Activator Methods and the Webster technique will resonate with your own health concerns. Maybe their recommendations and comments will help steer you in a direction that's right for you, whether that's here at Johnson Family Chiropractic or another doctor's office in Peoria. Lastly, we thank all of our patients who have given of their time and effort to write their reviews of our practice. Writing a positive review is the highest compliment we can receive. Thank you! |
